When communication failures occur, the three mobile telecommunications companies supported the Internet connection with disaster Wi-Pi, and a system for supporting USB tethering payment devices to small business owners was established.

On the 24th, the Ministry of Science and ICT conducted joint training for related organizations related to emergency recovery of telecommunications services with four telecommunications companies and related organizations in connection with KT Guro Guksa in Gwanak-gu, Seoul on the 24th.

The drone was launched in KT Guro Guksa, assuming a large-scale wired and wireless network failure in the neighboring area, and assumed to check the crisis response system and measures, such as emergency recovery of telecommunications services, responding to telecommunications companies, and protection of users.

In addition to checking the emergency recovery procedures for telecommunications services, there was also a check on follow-up measures to strengthen network stability, survivability and resilience after the KT disorder accident last year.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has been promoting the establishment of disaster Wi-Pi open system, supporting small business mobile phone tethering, building wireless network mutual white companies, and improving disaster rosing.

First of all, anyone can access public commercial Wi-Fi around the disability area in the wired and wireless communication disorders. After testing this month, it will be opened in September.

Disaster Wi-Pi sends a common identifier (public WiFi Emergency) and guides it as a disaster letter so that users can easily recognize whether they are open. Some operators plan to further improve the system by the end of the year to automate the transition to the Wi-Fi identifier.

If the disaster Wi-Fi is opened in a telecommunications disorder situation, even if a carrier has a failure, it is possible to urgently communication such as urgent message transmission or disaster information through other carriers’ Wi-Fi.

In addition, in case of small business damage due to a wired Internet failure situation, three wired telecommunications companies support emergency payments through payment devices using mobile phone tethering functions.

KT plans to complete the technology development of the built-in software of wireless AP devices to support the USB tethering method that connects the user’s USB port on the user’s wireless AP device and complete the distribution of software this month.

LG Uplus and SK Broadband supports Ethernet tethering methods that connect small businesses’ payment devices and mobile phones to Ethernet gender, and are currently completing gender production for Ethernet tethering and receiving applications from small business users.

By supporting small business tethering payment, it is possible to temporarily pay small businesses in the wired Internet failure situation, which will contribute to reducing operating damage.

The three wired telecommunications companies will promote full-scale promotion through various means such as sending text messages, notification of fare statements and homepage notices, and exclusive apps for small business owners.

In order to prevent simultaneous disorders of wireless networks in the national wired network disorder, wireless network users can use the wired network of other carriers to use the domestic Internet, mobile messenger, finance, and convenience services.

To this end, the four telecommunications companies have prepared a business operation procedure for mutual back companies through practical consultations and pilot tests in the first half of this year, and promoted the capacity of interlocking lines by the end of the year for smooth acceptance of traffic growth due to mutual backups. It will be completed.

In addition, in a regional wireless network disorder situation, users will expand their acceptance to disaster rosing, which is a measure that can be used through other carriers wireless networks as existing mobile phone terminals. The size of the disaster campaign will be expanded from 2 million to 3 million, and will be promoted by the end of the year in consideration of the equipment supply and demand.

Hong Jin-bae, head of the Network Policy Division of the Ministry of Information and Communication, said, The newly prepared disaster Wi-Fi system and small business tethering payment support are meaningful progress in terms of enhancing disability resilience. It was evaluated.

We need to work more to ensure stability of telecommunications services, such as telecommunications companies to be alert and strengthening their own network work to prevent communication disorders such as Japan’s KDDI in July.
