Jürgen Klopp has praised his players in the English football top club FC Liverpool in the highest tones, but at the same time warned against self-complacent.
“We always have to fight and do not remember how well we could be. We are not the Harlem Globetrotters,” said the German team manager on Friday: “There is a lot of very good teams we have to measure ourselves.”
Nobody, emphasized Klopp, “is happy to be second. To reach a finale is great. But if you lose it, it’s all worthy.”
His current team have a “top squad, the best I had ever had,” Klopp said, “but is more important to ensure the right mood in the team and in the stadium to succeed.”
In the Champions League Liverpool is clear after the convincing 2-0 at Inter Milan on quarterfinal course, in the Premier League, on the other hand, the way to the championship title is still very far.
Currently Manchester City is located on the top of the table nine points of Liverpool. “I’m really wasting any thought of the table constellation,” Klopp said, “We have to win our games, and then we will see if we come closer or not.”
